Private Pilot Licence – Helicopter (PPL-H) (PPL(H))

PPL(H) (Private Pilot Licence – Helicopter) is the private helicopter pilot licence under EASA. It entitles you to fly helicopters non-commercially. Training is more expensive than for aeroplanes due to hourly cost.

Prerequisites

  • Age: min. 16 to start, 17 to hold the licence
  • Medical: Class 2
  • No specific education required

How to obtain

Theoretical training (similar to PPL(A)) and practical – min. 45 h helicopter flight time. Theoretical and practical exam (skill test).

Approximate cost

Cost significantly higher than PPL(A) – approx. from PLN 150,000 (helicopter hourly rate). Exact prices at training organisations.
