Balloon Pilot Licence (BPL) (BPL)

BPL (Balloon Pilot Licence) entitles you to fly hot-air balloons and airships. Requires min. 16 years, medical (usually Class 2), theoretical and practical training (min. 16–20 h flights, 20 launches and landings).

Prerequisites

  • Age: min. 16
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Min. lower secondary education; guardian consent if under 18

How to obtain

Theory: law, meteorology, navigation, performance, etc. (approx. 50 h or in package). Practice: min. 16–20 h, 20 launches and landings, type training on balloon.

Approximate cost

Approx.: theory PLN 1,000–1,500, practice approx. PLN 10,000. Prices depend on number of participants and organisation.
