Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane (CPL-A) (CPL(A))

CPL(A) (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) is the commercial pilot licence under EASA. It entitles you to fly commercially as commander or co-pilot (depending on type of operation). It is a step towards airline work after adding IR, MCC and flight time.

Prerequisites

  • Age: min. 18
  • Flight time: min. 150 h (including 70 h as PIC) before starting practical training
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Theory: completed ATPL(A) or CPL(A) theoretical course

How to obtain

  1. Theoretical training – approx. 250 h (ATPL or CPL).
  2. Practical training – min. 15 h flight + 5 h simulator (after meeting flight time requirements).
  3. Practical exam – skill test with CAA examiner.

Approximate cost

Approx. from PLN 23,000 net for the practical part (after meeting prerequisites). Theory and flight time to 150 h separately. Prices vary by school.
