Airline Transport Pilot Licence – Aeroplane (ATPL-A) (ATPL(A))

ATPL(A) (Airline Transport Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) is the highest aeroplane pilot licence in EASA. It entitles you to act as captain in air transport. Frozen ATPL (CPL + IR + MCC) entitles you to work as co-pilot in airlines; full ATPL – after at least 1500 h (including 300 IFR, 200 multi-crew).

Prerequisites

  • Age: min. 21 (when applying for full ATPL)
  • Theory: ATPL(A) theoretical course – min. 650 h (lectures + self-study), 14 subjects, exams min. 75%, 6 sessions in 18 months
  • Experience: for full ATPL – min. 1500 h flight time, 500 h multi-crew

How to obtain

Path 1 (frozen ATPL): CPL(A) + IR + MCC → co-pilot privileges.
Path 2: Integrated training at ATO (theory + practice from zero).
Full ATPL after meeting required flight time and applying.
